Keeping busy

I've been keeping busy working on paintings. Roar will be in just a little over a month and I just committed to doing a show in December. I'm hoping that I will book a couple more shows before the end of the year. I better get back to work!

Small Works of Art

The past few weeks I have been working on small pastel paintings. When I say small I mean 2 inches by 3 inches. They take the same amount of time and care as a larger painting but they take up a lot less space. I am thinking about doing a 100 of these little painting but have not fully committed to the challenge.

Painting Delivered

A couple of weeks ago I finished and delivered my painting for the Smoky Hills Public Television Signature Auction. It is a really nice landscape. This painting at 12"by 16" is larger than what I normally paint. I can't wait for the auction April. Someone will get a really nice piece.

Smoky Hills Public Television Signature Aution

A few weeks ago I was asked to donate a painting to the Smoky Hills Public Television Signature Auction. The auction has been going on for many years and I've always wanted to donate, but had missed the deadline. This year I'm very glad that they are accepting art by invitation only and that I received an invitation. So, I have been working on a piece for the auction. I'm really excited about it. The auction will be held in April 2011. Public television is such a great thing I hope they are able to sell the art work for a good price.

Busy Week

Last week was very busy. I made four new paintings, framed six painting, matted a few more, switch out my art at Harvey's, and did an interview for a local magazine. I loved every minute of it. It makes me want to keep working toward my goal of becoming a full time artist.

Getting ready for ROAR

Frames have been ordered for the paintings I'm planning on entering into ROAR. My plan is to get everything framed ahead of time so I'm not running around the last minute trying to get it together. If I frame one painting a day they should be ready to go in plenty of time.

Harvey's

There in a new cool cafe in town called Harvey's. While browsing facebook I found out they were looking to display art. Ah, the window of opportunity opens. I didn't waste any time in contacting them to see if I could display my art. After a phone call and a little meeting my art can now be seen at Harvey's. If you find yourself in Osborne, KS, stop in at Harvey's get a bite to eat and check out the art.
