New Paper

I've had a few sheets of sanded paper but haven't used them until last night. I portioned the large sheet in to smaller ones which left me with a 3x12 inch piece that I turned into a 3x3 so I could get a feel for the paper. It is wonderful!!! I can't wait to do a painting on one of the larger sheets.

ROAR on the Horizon

I just received my entry form for ROAR (Russell's Original Art Review) yesterday. It gave me the boost I needed to finish a painting I've been working on for this show. Just one more painting to do for this event. Then I'll be ready to matt and frame them all in time for the big event in the middle of October. There will be no resting though, I'll need to get some painting completed for the show in Beloit at the end of October with the artist group.

Busy Working

I've been busy working on getting this blog updated. Added an artist statement, resume and art available pages. I even used and customized one of the "new" fancy templates that blogger has. I think that it looks pretty good now. Hopefully I'll get some of the new paintings that I've been working on posted. I would like to also add a page called "Art Show". It will consist of about 10 painting or pieces of art work of simular theme. Now I need to get back to updating the blog.

It has been a long time

It has been a long time since I've posted to my blog. Didn't even know if I was going to remember my password. Life has been busy and part of the busy has been painting up a storm. I've worked on almost 20 projects since the beginning of the year and feel great about them. Hopefully I'll get some of them photographed so I can share them with you.

Other news is the art group that I belong to is posting a blog. Nothing on it just yet but hopefully we will be posting every ones art soon. The link is http://nck-art.blogspot.com/ .

Celebration Art Show

It has been a week since we had the "Celebration Art Show" not quiet the attendance that we were looking forward to having. The HOT and HUMID Kansas summer day kept most people at home inside and nobody was performing/playing music in the gazebo this year. Even with this it was a great day. All of us artist sat around in the air conditioned depot and talked art and life. Jan sold one painting(she does wonderful landscapes) and Pattie sold a couple of note cards(she is great at painting animals). If you want to see pictures of our little show you can click on the link to Pattie's blog. Hopefully we will be able to do this again next year. Remember our building is air conditioned if you are looking to beat the heat!

"Our View From Here"

I currently have artwork at the Deines Cultural Center in Russell, KS for a group show called "Our View From Here". All the artist are in the North Central Kansas Art Association (or Association of Artist. There seems to be some questions on the name of the group.) Anyway there is a bunch of great art from a bunch of great artists in a bunch of different media. If you happen to be in the Russell area or passing through Kansas on I70 take a few minutes to take in the show. It will be running until June 28, 2009. The Deines Cultural Center Hours are: Tues-Friday 1:30-5:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday 1-5 pm.
