Getting ready for ROAR

Frames have been ordered for the paintings I'm planning on entering into ROAR. My plan is to get everything framed ahead of time so I'm not running around the last minute trying to get it together. If I frame one painting a day they should be ready to go in plenty of time.

Harvey's

There in a new cool cafe in town called Harvey's. While browsing facebook I found out they were looking to display art. Ah, the window of opportunity opens. I didn't waste any time in contacting them to see if I could display my art. After a phone call and a little meeting my art can now be seen at Harvey's. If you find yourself in Osborne, KS, stop in at Harvey's get a bite to eat and check out the art.

New Paper

I've had a few sheets of sanded paper but haven't used them until last night. I portioned the large sheet in to smaller ones which left me with a 3x12 inch piece that I turned into a 3x3 so I could get a feel for the paper. It is wonderful!!! I can't wait to do a painting on one of the larger sheets.

ROAR on the Horizon

I just received my entry form for ROAR (Russell's Original Art Review) yesterday. It gave me the boost I needed to finish a painting I've been working on for this show. Just one more painting to do for this event. Then I'll be ready to matt and frame them all in time for the big event in the middle of October. There will be no resting though, I'll need to get some painting completed for the show in Beloit at the end of October with the artist group.

Busy Working

I've been busy working on getting this blog updated. Added an artist statement, resume and art available pages. I even used and customized one of the "new" fancy templates that blogger has. I think that it looks pretty good now. Hopefully I'll get some of the new paintings that I've been working on posted. I would like to also add a page called "Art Show". It will consist of about 10 painting or pieces of art work of simular theme. Now I need to get back to updating the blog.
