Work in progress

Currently I've been working on my series of monochromatic drawings. I believe in the end there will be 15 in all. This is subject to change. I don't think that it will be less but it may be more depending if I get more pastels. At this time I'm working on the sixth drawing. To view the first two in this series refer to my second post. When they are finished I want to post them as a whole.

I have also started to make 6"x6" drawings. No, they are not an every other day drawing. They are drawings that I can switch off to when I need a break from the monochromatic drawings. I like having a couple of things going at the same time to keep it fresh.

A Painting Every Other Day

I read an article about an artist that did a painting a day, and thought that is crazy. More interested in the subject I typed "a painting a day" in a search engine to see if there were others doing the same thing. Much to my surprise there are numerous artist doing a painting a day, so I challenged myself to do a painting a day for a week. I was unable to do a painting a day for a week, but was able to do a painting every other day for a week.

web page

It has been a long time since I posted anything on this blog, so I thought I better get something new for people to look at. Some time earlier this year I ran across the web page that I made in college. I had no idea the the web site was up and running. With no pictures of my new work I'm sharing the link to my web page made in college several years ago. If you would like to view others web sites click on the F at the bottom of the web page and it will take you to the home page where you can choose to look at my classmates work.

pen & ink

12 X 12 inches pen and ink
$40
This drawing was created using a 1 inch design rotated one turn clock wise. I like doing these types of drawings. When the 1 inch design is made one never knows what happy surprises will happen when it is put in a larger composition.

watercolor landscapes

I created these watercolor landscapes a few years ago. They are only about 4X51/2 inches. I was inspired by the Kansas landscape in the spring.

I finished this deer in early January. It was started in the summer of 2006. I started this drawing by making an gray scale under drawing and then I started to apply color. Working from light to dark. This drawing is 11X14 inches made with colored pencil.
